My new VXR

My new VXR

Thanks chaps (y)

Adam, sorry but I have been put off buying another Fiat for various reasons. Nothing against the cars at all just too many bad experiences to consider them at this time. Although I do find the new grande punto to be "not my thing". It just did not impress me, sorry.

Yeah the Stilo is going but it's being replaced by something I consider to be much more what I want.

5 days to go :bang:

I think you'll get less noticed in the VXR, I mean it stands out, but because your Stilo was tastefully modified and in a nice colour, it stood out a lot, and there's also still a lot of people who don't know what a Stilo is LOL.

Balls. you'll stand out a mile in a bright red VXR vauxhall compared to a relatively bland (if nice) stilo.

Depends who's looking. In the company car park it seems everybody has a comment about my yellow JTD but the Evo 7 goes un-noticed. You cant compare a VXR with an Evo in any area regardless of it being a very nice car.

Well personally I think the Astra VXR is a nicer looking car than a dated Evo.
Evo's have been around so long now it's very easy to understand why that one gets less attention than a yellow Stilo.

I understand what you are saying pinin and I agree with it totally.

My Stilo gets a lot of looks wherever it is, most people tend to look at the wheels unless they do this as a cover up so I don't get big headed.
But the Astra did get far more attention when I was on that test drive.

Had something dark blue flash past me on the A52 recently, was curious as it wasnt an impreza for a change... caught him at that next roundabout (just!)... to read 'VXR' badge on tailgate, made sense then :D Saw Orange ST in the flesh recently and found the colour just too much! Seriously, nice choice and good luck with it (y)

Cool, and thankyou !

How dark was the blue though, because the VXR only comes in 4 colours.

Red

Blue (which is very bright and not dark at all like my Stilo)

Black

Silver

The blue seemed a similar shade to Subarus, then again the car in question was pretty dirty...

Yeah it can look similar to the scooby blue, although it is a lot lighter in the sun.

June had metalic blue for her last car [Astra] and what a pig of a colour to keep clean to This is why she had silver/grey for the Meriva [and am currantly working on her to buy a new Stilo JTD :D

Well I'm off with the modding already and I ain't got the car yet :D

Dealers are now in the process of getting a Miltec performance exhaust ordered and fitted before I get the car next wednesday.

That combined with a remap will see the car up to 300bhp... oooh I can't wait :slayer:

thought you had beaten the modding bug ;)
Not performance mods though :D

I just won't be making any visible changes, there's no need. But who can pass up an extra 60bhp with an extra outlay of just 1700 quid, not me :D

Wouldnt exactly say thats a sleeper people know there fast. But with 300bhp you shoudl be able to go playing with the impreza boys you should actually be faster once moving. unless of course there modded lol.

But least thats one good thing about vauxhall they seem to be up on the tuning modding thing a bit more than most dealers.

It's a manual box.

This is the company here that work closely with Vauxhall, there's a lot of good stuff going on with the VXR. It's a real shame Fiat don't do the same thing with their performance models.

A new zorst like that and my warranty is still gonna be intact. This whole experience is just getting better. (y)

There's a weight reduction of 20 kg by swapping to this system, I don't know how heavy 20 kg is, any ideas :D

Looks good.. You sticking with the centre exit as that looks (y)

Also yeah i know what you mean, fiat should get something going on with supersprint! And it not voiding those parts on your warrenty is ace.. also do they know about the remap? will this not effect the warrenty either!

Cant wait till im older and able to get a decent insurance premium, on something with a turbo and nice big fat bhp, lol :D
