Aah that's my secret blown, that was my new plan for the saloon.
I've got a v6 itch to scratch
I've got a v6 itch to scratch
Removal of the frame is simple
1. Disconnect wishbones from struts
2. Lower complete exhaust
And the transmission tunnel guards and disconnect gearbox mounts
3. Remove 2 bolts that hold the frame to chassis either side of car
4. remove 8 bolts at the rear of the frame
5. Wiggle it out
Tools you will need is a socket set and a breaker bar (impact gun also helps)
bluejohn125, the car atm is abut hit and miss, the guy that had the 3.2 V6 busso for sale lied and it was a 2.5 with a GTA intake plenum, having 2 bravos, Marea saloon and a GTV to look after it seems the Marea project has come to a stand still, currently breaking any parts that anyone may need
The original Busso designed engine was 2,5L, the rest are derivates...
Can't believe that nice example of a 20V Marea Weekend is being stripped and junked... ????
I'm just a bit surprised that you don't just put it back together relatively standard... I thought you had done all the cosmetic mods and basic mechanical improvements, and you took the standard engine out to put in a Turbo version or a V6?
If it was a standard runner I'm sure it could be sold on and saved??
OK I see now that you've had the 5-pot engines on both of your Weekends go bang... I though (correctly) that you had scrapped the red one but also I remembered (correctly) that you had got a decent replacement engine to fit (from a Coupe). It's good that your mate's Bravo has benefitted from some of your parts and effort, so hopefully the Marea isn't completely finished although clearly your collection has gone a bit mad!
Is the Alfa a keeper or a temporary indulgence?
