Seicento My Little Red Sei...

Introduction

Well this is my pretty much standard Red(ish) Seicento...

I've had it since September last year, was at 71,000 miles and we're now up to 78,000 and now going stronger than ever :)

I haven't done much yet, mainly due to my insurance being so high since I'm 18.

Had an oil change & an ITG Foam Filter. Also got a new clutch and rear wheel bearings along with a new handbrake cable.

And of course I had to fit Abarth centre caps and black/red floor mats ;)

I've got some drilled discs and new OMP Sport pads to go on sometime soon.

(Sorry about the picture quality, I used my phone)

I haven't driven it enough lately to know, well not fast anyway, how long it's been like it but for at least a month it's been down on power at the top end. It got really rather noticeable today and it felt like it hit a wall at around 4-5k so I found myself shifting up early :(

After having a faff about with the induction kit, it's now been shortened and I now have a Cinq coil pack cover so it's not rubbing on the leads (Thanks Lecook ). The problem has now miraculously disappeared.

It was still doing it with the plastic cover on so that wasn't the problem.

I'm just puzzled by how the problem has disappeared

I'm not complaining though, I now have what feels like considerably more power and much more induction noise

Until today I had forgotten how much of a twunt seicent cables are to get to.... ben get your finger out... buy a clutch kit... and then you can learn a bit more about ripping stuff to pieces :) rather then being rapedfor half jobs at garages :)

On the down side... I guess this means a clutch change is on the cards??? Can I finish rebuilding mine first please :p

The rear of the sei has now been fitted with some strongflex yellows and I can confirm they're awesome, it handles really well now, much less roll too. Really chuffed with them. :)

Just need the fronts in now and the rear brakes sorting out. As well as a rear bearing, handbrake cable and fixing the sticky caliper at the front. Once that lot is sorted everything will be tip top and ready for more power

Oh and a new clutch....

Are they deffo worth the money? And what they like to fit?
Matt

From just the rears being done so far I would say they're well worth it :D (Although I got my set cheap from someone who never fitted them) In fact I think they made about as much difference as lowering springs did, it's really stiffened up the rear end.

It was far harder burning/smashing the old bushes out than getting the new ones in, where the rear arms join the car the mounts needed to be bent out slightly as the bushes are a little wider than standard.

Finally got the car back and what a difference! The clutch never felt stiff or anything but that was before I realised how light it should be, I can now see why it was snapping cables!

It's now incredibly light and has made it so much smoother to drive, they also changed the gearbox oil so the changes feel much better :slayer: Oh and the caliper has been freed up so that helps lol
