Seicento My Little Red Sei...

Introduction

Well this is my pretty much standard Red(ish) Seicento...

I've had it since September last year, was at 71,000 miles and we're now up to 78,000 and now going stronger than ever :)

I haven't done much yet, mainly due to my insurance being so high since I'm 18.

Had an oil change & an ITG Foam Filter. Also got a new clutch and rear wheel bearings along with a new handbrake cable.

And of course I had to fit Abarth centre caps and black/red floor mats ;)

I've got some drilled discs and new OMP Sport pads to go on sometime soon.

(Sorry about the picture quality, I used my phone)

A long update since it's been a while....

The Monroe shocks went on a little while ago with many thanks to Lecook as usual (y) The handling is now better than ever but still not stiff enough for my liking although it rides very well now :slayer:

However in general the car isn't faring to well after our encounter with a drunk cyclist

This resulted in my second new radiator in a few months, the bumper has split right through and there's a lovely dent in the bonnet now, which has also bent a little :( I will get it fixed, albeit slowly...

Part of the bracket for the headlight also made it's departure from the car too but that's now sorted

I also got myself an spi bumper (I think I might prefer it over mpi style now), I mainly got it for the fog lights and splitter on it but after buying the new indicators and getting mine off, breaking some seized fixings on the way, I found out it won't quite fit, so I had the joy of bodging mine back on :(
For a start the fog light on the drivers side was blocked by the radiator and a section needs to be cut from the bottom of the bumper where it was also fouling the radiator. Even if I did take the lights out it looks crap as they have been cut into the bumper so for the moment I'm thinking about fitting the fog lights and possibly splitter to my current bumper

A few weeks ago I fitted a new steering wheel (after alot of faffing about with the airbag) and all was promising until I realised the boss was simply too big making it far to high up to be comfortable or safe, so unfortunately it had to come straight back off again, looked good though

The 866 camshaft is still waiting to be fitted and it will probably be some time however I am just waiting for a 40mm TB to arrive and hopefully it will be in time for the sprint I'm going to at Curborough on Wednesday 21st :slayer:

Next up will have to be some new tires, the rears are so tall if I corner hard left it rubs on the plastic arch  The rear wiper is also on the verge of being dead, it's so slow it's painful so a de-wiper may be in order soon...

remove trim from tailgate and strip the motor gearbox you only need a standard metric o ring ti refurbished like new there is a guide...

Been a while since I updated this as I've been busy moving house and finding a new job, so here goes... Everything is still going just about, still needs a new front bumper as I've now had plenty of encounters with wildlife (dead and alive) :bang: and lots more parts are needed now to keep it running:
-track rod ends
-rear bushes
-rear bearings
-new backbox
-rear gearbox mount
and a service and cambelt change are due anytime now as well.

However it now has a mpi 'focus' induction kit off ebay and some Subaru seats thanks to Lee :worship:

(dirt on my phone, not the seats)

Some 13" Valbrem wheels are now waiting for a couple of Yoko's for the front and they shall be fitted and some even lower/stiffer FK springs are in the pipeline too :slayer:

To top it off yesterday after a trip to see Cento Painter with some 1.2 16v bits!! Mk1 inlet and head and a Mk2 cambox and block. The cambox happens to be fitted with MK1 sporting cams and as it turns out the head happens to have double valve springs :D :D :D

Hopefully a mpi 16v conversion shouldn't be too complicated :D

The new fog lights are finally fitted and working and the oil changed :D

Looks like you sorted out the fitting ok :)

I had a little help :p

It took a while but the worst part was getting the old foglights out (used a grinder in the end). We drilled them in through the bottoms of the grill inserts and they're wired up to the original fog light leads so are still using the little fiat connectors :)

I love the yellow tint and they're really bright, 1000x better than standard :D

Well the cambelt and tensioner have finally been replaced after being overdue for sometime. The original belt was badly perished and looking rather worn out. We did have an interesting backfire echo through the induction kit for not lining the little dimple up on the crank pulley though

The car felt a tad slower on the first drive but I'm assuming it's just me as it idles just as smoothly as before and starts fine. It felt a bit better on the drive home, ecu re-learn or just me?

The rear gearbox mount was replaced too so it generally feels more solid now, but there's still a bit of a 'clonk' if I change gear sharply?

This turned up a few days ago and some new exhaust clamps arrived today. Hopefully this will be on soon... *cough* Lee *cough* ;) the old one is almost beyond rust now. One of the exhaust clamps had turned to dust and disintegrated.

A while ago I also acquired a full set of strongflex poly bushes (excluding engine mounts) for fitting at some point :D

The radiator fan seems to have given up, it still spins freely and everything is still plugged into it, someone mentioned it may have blown a fuse. The problem is all the white text on top of the fusebox has been smudged/wiped off so I have no idea which one it is?

Unfortunately due to a lack of money at the moment the 1.2 16v conversion has gone out the window, so now the plan is for a fast 1.2 8v swap in the distant future :yum: shame I sold my 866 cam a little while ago...
