General my fiat punto sporting wont start

Hey all

just had this car a few days 2nd hand etc,
the car did start at first but there was hardly any petrol inside it
next day it didnt start at all, I put some more petrol inside it so its above empty and it still wont start

i have noticed on the dashboard their is a light what stays on not sure what its called but it looks like a coil like 2 circles stick together, (00) - its like this but the circle is stuck together.

when i turn the key the car dont start it sound sluggish and wont start at all,

some people say it can be the imobilizer not sure how to do that either

this is the first time i had a fiat

please help me

plastic gauze in reservoir causing faulty reading?

Nah, I meant "which warning light"

if it ran out of petrol turn ignition on but don't turn engine over listen for pump priming to stop, turn off then repeat a few times before attempting to start.

do not touch throttle
