I used the search function but couldn't find an answer to this question:

How can I change the settings of the My Car menu when my Connect Nav is broken ??
The button cluster with the menu button only shows 2 or 3 options - all other options are normally changed by the Connect Nav but I guess there must be a way to transfer these options back to the menu cluster just like the Stilo's without Connect Nav??
thank you for your answer,
yellowstilo

Even the Fiat techs don't have a clue ??
In my opinion it should be possible to use the menu-panel instead of the Connect Nav in case of a faulty Connect Nav or replacement by another type of radio - when retrofitting a Connect Nav in a "simple" Stilo it's possible to use both the menu-panel and the Connect Nav for the "my car" vehicle settings.....
I hope somebody has a solution for this problem??
thanks,

Did you try with somebody who had 'normal' radio before and made CN+ upgrade ? Maybe they know whats beginning of story?

I'm asking this for a friend who bought a Stilo Abarth with a faulty Connect Nav - he can't choose most of the "my car" settings which are normally changed by the Connect Nav.
in my own "normal" stilo 1.6 all functions of the "my car" settings can be changed with the "menu" button cluster - after retrofitting the Connect Nav system I can change the settings using both the Connect Nav and/or the menu button cluster.
I guess there must be a way to change the way these settings are made in case of a faulty Connect Nav in a Abarth Stilo- right now even something simple as time setting can't be changed with the menu button cluster because this is normally done by means of the settings in the Connect Nav system....
I hope you understand my explanation,
thank you for any new ideas,
yellowstilo

I have actually queried this with the fiat dealer as it was a concern of mine. If the satnav system packs up then that's it. Other than the items shown under menu then there are no others as it is all directed to the satnav system rather than the menu. Sorry to bare bad news.

Thank you for your (disappointing) answer - I already feared to get a negative answer because nothing is mentioned in the manual...
thanks anyway,

Hello Steve,

I did some tests with a CAN interface - it is possible to send the Connect settings configuration file to the instrument cluster to change the time and settings .
I just need to know all settings to provide a configuration file to send it down the CAN bus to change the settings.
I hoped there would be a "built-n" solution for this problem - if you PM your settings for all menu options I can produce a CAN code for you that can be sent on the low speed CAN bus (50 kbps) to set all correct values.

Hi Yellowstilo,
Mine is working OK. I had a few issues with the satnav system which were resolved with a version update. In the period between issues arising and resolve I had the same scenario in that I could not select changes, hence my asking the dealer. If there is any info I can provide you to assist please ask.
Thanks
Steve

Hello Steve,
thank you for your answer , good to hear your problems are solved.
I guess there are more Stilo drivers around with the same problem, i assume there should be a possibility to change over to the menu button cluster once the Connect Nav gets faulty or in case you just want to replace it by another car radio....
Even something simple like setting the time isn't possible without a working Connect system while in a normal Stilo all settings can be made using the button cluster!
I appreciate your offer to provide extra information but right now I guess this problem is more complex as it seemed to be...
I think even the technical department from Fiat doesn't have a solution for this problem - my CAN-message solution is not really appropriate for average customers.
I hope someone comes up with a solution (come on FIAT !!!!!!) - thanks for answering my question !
