Punto (Mk2/2b) Munkul's thread

Introduction

well, i put a deposit down on a 52 plate Mk2 today, very happy!

its in very nice condition, standard, no signs of crash damage or owt, the only bits were a slight ding in the passenger side rear arch, and slightly kerbed alloys :)

well i think it will be an ongoing project, as long as its reliable enough!

the interior pic is quite rubbish, but the seats still look a little dirty  apparently a common problem....

i get to pick it up on saturday the 5th jan, it getting MOTed by dealer, etc

i cant wait
After a wash, i left it a bit late but heres some fresh pics

one seized bush, seized brake unions and 2 snapped bolts for the left hand disc guard (im not bothering with the right hand one!!) i hate working on cars. lol

If all goes well, then it should be painted on monday, the caliper paint and new bush should come this week and touch wood, it will be all fitted to the car next saturday. *touches all the wood he can find*
I have HGT front calipers to fit as well, but i need the braided lines off richie and TBH i cant afford to buy new discs for a week or two anyway, so theres no hurry on that one.

The calipers should look pimp in the colour im getting :D

Good to see you got the front fixed...probably happened ages ago but i'm not on here as much as I should be.

Very clean looking car I assume the rear beam is going on this not the other one.

looks like you've been having fun today.
what colour are you planning bet its something flouresent lol

Not telling. It should work really well, but I'm not gonna say until it's been done ;)

Your car looks stunning.
Do you prefer the black side bump strips on like?

I'm still in two minds, really. Plus, they really do save the doors from carpark scratches!

It was fixed ages ago but I never got around to new pics :)

Yeah its going on this one. Poor car, it has no idea what is in store for it!

Leave the strips on and get them sprayed....I have no strips and have something new to cry about on a monthly if not weekly basis.

Is this the one thats being turbo'd?

funny thing is i havent had any extra bumps on mine since they came off (touch wood) but have loads of dints and scratches and chips in door from before then:confused:

i dont like the bumpstrips colour-coded, they would either be left as they are or removed entirely. As usual, the easiest option is taken :p

steven i dont know what you are talking about :D

the wheels are mentioned earlier in the thread, they are Stroseks.

Cheers. I didn't want to go through pages on pages of thread to find the name that's all (y)
cheers

Are the HGT calipers a fairly straight forward swap then?. And are they going on your blue one or your project car?.

they going on this one, the sprint. (both my sportings are blue lol)

they arent a straight swap, because the bolt holes are bigger on the HGT calipers. I will either drill and tap my hubs to suit, or swap the hubs off the HGT as well.
