yes, you need to remove two torx screws on the side visible when you open the doors, and two or three bolts visible when you lift the bonnet plus the cross head screws around the air filter and disconnect the main beam lamps, I think that's all and then lift the front top valence off (I see form the photo you've taken the wipers and top grille off already).
I don't have the car visible at the moment, so, if someone else has any more info I hope they chime in

Still no luck. The 'nose' is a litte bit loose but it still seems to be stuck in the area marked 'X' on the picture.

You will need to remove the interior trim from the windscreen edge, to access a bolt behind it that holds the front on.
(I have a 'newer facelift' model, but had to replace a whole wing, and there is a bolt on mine, in roughly the same position as yours that holds the upper edge of the wing on.
(yes, I know yours is a mk1, and it's just the round bit you need off, but pretty sure they have used the same fixing points for it)
(the interior trim just pulls off, there are some spring type catches it fits into) I pushed a flat bladed screwdriver into the edge and twisted it, and the trim just pops off. (though its a bit of an ARSE to get it lined up to push back on...)

Hope this helps...

Great :)Found it:) The bolt is hard to see inside the hole as it is not sentered.

Nice job, good looking piece of machining..are they stainless or just plain mild steel?
I have a small lathe and a small mill, and they are a real godsend when doing these sort of things..Makes life SO much easier!!

Thanks :) I used brass for these bushings. I think the original ones is cast iron.
Yes its quite handy to have a lathe and mill to make some parts :)

Brass is a nice material to be using, but a bit soft I would have thought for that sort of thing, as soft, and may well wear quite quickly under heavy use. (though lots of bearings are made of it, I have found this to be true, and they may need replacing again soon) But as it's easy to machine, and you have the facilities to make them yourself, not really a problem. :)
