Hi Guys,
I am new to the Forum, does anybody know if the 1600CC petrol ELX Multipla is an non-interference design engine as the timing belt has broken. It is a year 2000 model with 107K miles on the clock, probably not worth repairing of the head is in bits. Any comments appreciated.

it's not an non interference engine, so there will shure be some bend valves..

sorry m8

Thats what I thought, but not what I really wanted to hear. Thanks for your help. I now have nothing to loose so I might a go at it myself, how hard can it possibly be.

proberly easier just to buy a second hand head. just make sure its true. and when replacing the cam belt, replace tensioner, water pump and idle pulleys + auxillary belts.:)
