Hello all.

I recently became the proud owner of my first Multipla. It's a 2004 ELX and I am happy with everything apart from the sound system.

I've replaced the hu with a Pioneer 8400BT but realise I also need to replace the speakers.

I've been looking through threads and need some help. I think I've decided on some Infinity Kappa 65.9cs components...do others recommend these or are there others that I should be considering?

Will I require speaker adaptors to mount the mid woofers or will they screw straight into the hole?

How much sound deadening material will I need and if so, how much is it and is the group buy still available?

Sorry about the all of the questions.

Regards

James.

I was hoping he would reply as he certainly knows his beans.

Unfortunately I'm up in Northumberland, otherwise I'd love to have met up with you both as I am extremely interested.

I've just sold my 2yo 159 and bought the Multipla expecting to be severely depressed and to my astonishment I really love it and want to upgrade the stereo to make it even better.

I'd be interested to hear what Stu has to say when you meet up with him. I don't want a bass thumping annoyance, just a nice, rich sounding stereo.

For speakers have a look on ebay to see if there are some decent ones at a bargain price. Check for second hand higher end ones. Most high end audio nuts look after their gear.
If running off the head unit then the Hertz Energy are quite good.

I can still get the deadenng group buy but that is a minimum of 3 1m2 sheets which is way over kill for just doing the doors. A friend was supposed to be giving me some details of some good cheap stuff. Ill give him a reminder.

Im not sure about adapters as i havnt see the multi doors yet, but you will always be better off with an MDF baffle. Installation is as important than the speakers.

Stu

Thanks for your reply Stu

After reading your previous threads I think you've swayed me into wanting some Hertz ESK 165s but can't see any second hand.

I think I'll also want to install an amp too. I'd be interested what you have to say when you've seen a Multipla, particularly as to the mdf baffles.

I'll keep my eyes open...or do you know anyone selling decent speakers and an amp?
