Hi,
I drove up to the house, turned the ignition off, dropped some stuff off (5 minutes), came out and the car wouldn't start!. All the dashboards lights etc. were out except the clock. The radio which is directly wired - not through the ignition - was dead too.
I thought it must be a fuse and eventually found the ignition fuse under the bonnet on the LHS of the battery. Checked this and all the other fuses under the bonnet. I haven''t checked all the individual circuit fuses. The battery is reading 12.6 volts, cannot check the amperage, but if you short it, there is a healthy spark. Can anyone suggest where I go from here? Maybe there is a cable that has come loose, or the ignition switch itself, though the radio which isn't affected by the position of the ignition switch (but does pause when the engine is started, so maybe it goes through it).
I need the car for work on Monday so any suggestions will be greatly appreciated
Phil
