Hello, everyone. I have a Multipla 1.9 JTD 115, registered in February 2005, and I am trying to find out if it complies with Euro 4 standards.
I asked a mechanic friend who lives in another city, and he checked with FIAT using my car's license plate number. They replied that they are not sure if it complies with the Euro 4 standard; they are undecided. It could be yes or no.

My friend asked me if the car has a particulate filter.

I took some photos of the exhaust pipe, from the engine to the end. I know the car has a catalytic converter, but I'm not sure if it has a particulate filter. The photo number 2 is taken from both sides (2a and 2b).

Can anyone tell from the photos if my car has a particulate filter?

Is there any other way to find out?

Euro4 applies to vehicles sold after Jan 2006.
I believe that is not 100% true. There are cars that comply with the Euro 4 standard before that date. In some cases, those affected, have been able to ask FIAT for a compliance certificate and update the technical documentation of the vehicule.

The wikipedia and Race websites say that Euro 4 started in January 2005. There is a time frame of uncertainty (see two screenshot sttached).

Therefore If your answer is based only in that piece of information, it is not accurate.

I am looking for answers and opinions based on the mecanical and technical knowledge of the parts that i am showing in the picture.

Thanks

My answers are accurate.
You have since provided more information regarding your question.

In your pictures there is no particulate filter fitted

Look at your registration certificate and see if the emmision data for your vehicle is listed and if it is lower than the euro4 norms.

You will find the nox and hc+nox figures are much higher than euro4 limits
I have the same vehicle and checked the official figures

Thanks for your answer jackwhoo. There is no information about the Euro norm or anything related to emissions in my registration certificate.

Do you know if it is possible to ask a FIAT authorized workshop to fit a particulate filter in this model, and then get the Euro 4 compliance certificate from Fiat?

No that is not possible.

You will have to look for another multipla that is euro 4 and buy it if you want a euro 4 multipla.
