Hello everyone,
Our oldest 105 JTD needs new synchromesh ( after half a million kms no less) as it crunches into 3rd unless you go really slowly and the others are slow too.
Has anyone rebuilt the gearbox and found the synchromeshes ?
I can find bearing and seal kits but not the synchromesh.
All the best
Mike

Hi,
It may be easier to fit a used box.
Have you looked in forum eper for the fiat numbers for the parts you want?
Clutch releasing fully?
Best
J

Hello, yes, if I can find a "good" gearbox it would be easier. I have to pay for the installation so the risk (cost) is fairly high. A recon box is a grand !
Yes, the clutch is releasing fully and it's not the first worn gearbox that I've had experience with.
The eper system, while easy enough to use, does not appear to show the gear cluster including the synchro rings, so no part numbers which is strange. I've had several goes but I can't see the parts I need.
Thanks anyway, I will keep going for the moment !

Thanks, I eventually found the diagram, do you know the difference between the "C" and "D" category parts (C4350 and D4350) by any chance, I couldn't find a reference (but then I'm old and daft) as the part numbers are different ?

No I don't know to what you refer.
I believe it is possible to use your vin in eper to only show what applies to your vehicle.

Oh ..... in eper if you click on the i in a circle an explanation will pop up.

Fingers xed using your vin will help you
