Thank goodness I've found this forum! A wealth of information and guidance :)

My current issue, led me here; on my Mk2 Multipla (burnt orange) 1.6 Eleganza, the vinyl door trim (not the door rubber strip) on the outside of the door has split, and is perishing to the point that whole strips of vinyl can be pulled away.
My local Fiat dealer quoted over £200 to replace the vinyl on all 4 doors.

Has anyone else found this to be a problem, and has anyone simply striped it all back to the painted metalwork?

Welcome to the forum!

You may find this thread of interest:

I wouldn't bother with splashing out on another set of vinyls (especially at that price ). In a year or two, they'll be back to the same condition and you'll wonder why you ever bothered. Spraying them is a safer bet. I had a quote from a local bodyshop a couple of years ago to do just this and unfortunately their price was very similar to your quote for the vinyl :)eek::eek:).

So I've bought some Plastikote spray (primer and matt black) and wet and dry to rub down the body colour paint on the window frames of mine (no vinyl on my Multipla). Now I just need to find the time to do it.......

Thank you WMF :) I fancy just taking the transfer off, and leaving it as is. According to my Fiat dealer, it's treated bodywork anyway, so no need to respray. I'll post the result of my efforts (y)
