Hi,

First post here but I have just taken our Multipla in for it's 24k service. I checked the tyres and to my horror found that the inside edge of the fronts were down to the wires! Known problem with the camber that the dealer did not admit to:mad:.

The other woes include:
Sticky residue running down inside boot hatch.
Airbag warning light (also common it seems :( )

The tricky problem is the black plastic tape stuff that surrounds the windows. Not the rubber seals but the trim between the seals and the glass. I understand that this is referred to as 'transfer' or 'transfers' by the dealer. This trim stuff has wrinkled on 3 out of 4 doors.

Anyone else seen this on a Multipla or any other Fiat?

Cheers,
Steve

Our 54 plate New Shape Multipla has the same problem. I tried to fix it using a hair-dryer to gently heat it and stick it back down but it still wrinkles up after a few days. I expect the only way to resolve it is to buy new tape and clean the door frame thoroughly before sticking on the 'transfer', will try and find out how much it will cost.

oh - I also had the sticky residue running down the inside of the tailgate, it came off with some electrical cleaning spray. Our front tyres were also down to the wires on the inside edge after 20K miles, tracking was well out (toe-out by 5mm!) this occurred after the front spring recall. Never heard of any problems with the Air bag light although early Multiplas had a problem with the handbrakes seizing or something which caused the light to come on.

Just another day in the life of a Fiat owner!

Hi,

I have this problem, now removed all the tape and am about to spray the frames black at the weekend.

The only way to ensure it doesn't happen again!

Phil

Attached picture, taken from the office on a mobile, but, you can see that all the tape has been removed. Newly painted frames will be posted on Monday, so long as the weather allows me to spray!

Sideways view!!??!! anyone?

OK here is the multi with stickers peeled off and re-sprayed with Plasti-Cote satin spray.

Process
Wet & Dry sand (500 grit)
Clean and dry
Mask surrounding windows and area
Apply Plastic-Cote primer
Apply Plastic-Cote satin black
Remove masking
Enjoy

This paint is really good, touch dry in 10 mins and completely dry after 30.

24,000 mile service? Is it still under warranty? If it is take it back for everything!

Sticky residue - had that when I collected it at 1 year old and 7500 miles. Turned around and took it straight back and they cleaned it up.

Tyre wear - just changed both fronts (205-45-17's I think without checking) at about 15,000 miles. Not too bad for a Multi! I was getting fairly even wear, which was even more of a surprise! My old uglybug initially got through front tyres in 7500 miles, 3 months motoring for me! Local independent garage sorted it out and I once got 24,000 from a front Multipla tyre!!!!!

Window transfer thingies - colleague at work has a little Peugeot somethingortheother and his window transfer whatsits started to peel. Done under network Q warranty thing despite the car being 5 years old and out of ordinary warranty. Nice! Good old Perry's!

I now have the same problem with the window transfers, will either re-spary as per instructions by pandabloke or find out the price from Fiat on replacements, whichever's cheapest.

did you ever get the window frame taansfer problem sorted on your multipla mine has jus got bad and needs sorting
