I have a problem with my 2000 Multipla ELX 100 16V 1581cc.
When I start braking it is all fine but when I get down to medium to hard braking and just when I'm about to stop around 10 to 5 MPH front brakes (feel like the right-hand side) vibrates and shakes, stopping power drops down and you get spooked. It feels like your front wheels are skidding on a very bumpy surface. Very disturbing feeling. Not good during emergency.
It will be nice to know what's wrong before I take it to the fitters.
Can anyone tell what could possibly be wrong?

Sounds like your abs is kicking in which is normal , try to brake hard on a road grid or patch of wet where your out of the way see if its just that one side.

The abs will only kick in if the reluctor rings have a tooth missing or cracked, also if you are skidding. Check both rings to eliminate this possibility. The DIY way is a pig of a job to replace. I went to the scrappy and got the whole hub for £20. Also it could just be the abs sensor needs a rub & clean.

OH, P.S.
I actually hit the back of a car at a roundabout because of the abs kicking in. 5 mph max. I had cracked reluctor ring. Keep your distance and I agree, its bloody nerve racking.
