Technical multipla 07 uk keeps cutting out

ive got a multipla 07 keeps cutting out, it beeps twice and the a message appears saying engine controll fault, it sometimes cuts out but it does restart and it loses power and wont go quick. but then it may be fine for a while then all of a sudden randomly do it again. its been to garage twice they dont know whats wrong, any ideas??

Other people may correct me, but I think there are various sensors on the Multi, including crankshaft/camshaft (?) and flywheel sensors. If one of these plays up, the engine management light may come on and your engine will die. If and when it does fire up again it may recognise that there is a problem and put you in to 'limp mode' hence the loss of power.

A plug in to a diagnostic machine should pull up a code detailing what is at fault.

This happened to mine. Crankshaft sensor. Common problem and a pretty simple fix if you don't mind climbing under your car.
