Dave,

7 weeks ago I was told 10 days, then 2 weeks later 10 days. 7 weeks ago I said ok and I wanted to wait with no refund. It's now 10 weeks later, soon to be 11 and I have NO IDEA when the parts will if ever arrive. Mr Fiat refuses to respond to this simple question.

I do not think I am unreasonable and anxious in my request, albeit trying to get an answer is a little un orthodox. But I am NOT hiding any facts from Mr Fiat about my actions or intentions. Only being truthful.

of course they are wrong to post negative feedback if they got refunded, they are the type of people who ruin ebay.

A company takes the time to list a product or service... (they should then put this item or service on a shelf / virtual shelf)

you pay

they pick the item off the shelf and send it to you........ result...

More and more companies/ traders are listing stuff they dont have on their shelf and playing the Order direct from supplier which is great...........................................................

Until the supplier cant supply due to some retailer ordering their entire stock of product X....

You then play the waiting game... and the item might eventually turn up on a slow boat from china in a container or not at all...

In the mean time your keeping your eye out for the postman or whoever is fetching it your money has been taken and you cant go else where....

where as if it was showing NOT in stock you could have gone else where in the first intance ....

I ordered a Fridge on line before Christmas which was "in stock" Imediate dispatch by 24 hour courier :slayer: .....

It took 4 weeks of emails. Given excuse after excuse to sort it and dragging up the 28 days period rulings and the threat of doing a reverse charge on my credit card someone suddenly "found it in the warehouse" and it came the next day....

Yet for £5 more i could have used another supplier and probably got it in the timescale they listed as they had 5 of them on the shelf....... And saved been without a fridge for 4 weeks and the hassle of arranging redelivery when it finally turned up as no one was in (mum and sister were both off on holiday the week i ordered it)

I see no reason why i should have to ask for a refund for a product someone is unable to supply they should not take the money in the first place.......

Thanks Andy,

I agree entirely if it were a can of beans or other fast moving goods. The issue is different when you are listing a pair of 1965 Ferrari rear light lenses in european spec. Considering they only made 1200 or so cars, and only 43 were RHD with only half that left today, then they are a rare item. If a ligitimate company lists them on a newly listed ebay auction, and not just on a shop stock list, photographs them nicely and offers a pair for sale you would think they were in stock. Afterall there's not going to be a panic buy like a can of beans. If they take your money and you call them on the phone to get exact shipping fees and request a Fedex express service (3 days or so) you'd think they'd tell you they were out of stock.
It's certainly not something you can call china and say quick make me just two!

I can make a guess that maybe, just maybe they did have them and sold them on to someone else who offered more money which left them with trying to source unobtainium to send out to me and simply don't have an answer on how to get another pair? This I must stress is only a guess I have no evidence to support this.

neg is for no product or refund offered

this company are quite good see bs. i first contacted them to try and get help for a member who made it look like he was being ripped off for $200. as we can now see that was a pricing error and as we all know price errors on the internet don't got honoured no more thanks to sites like money expert posting them to millions. the days of us all getting 500 quid dell computers for 50 quid are gone :(

this company were quick to reply to me to help resole problems, better than many other companies ive contacted on members behalf, like Gazzella who's average waiting time seems to be from 6 months to never for parts or a reply. and FK who took weeks to get back to me after emailing 6 different addresses

In my eyes its also for dealing with someone / an organisation who messes you about.

Fair enough mistakes happen Ive had items that arrive DOA which although its annoying IF the company goes out of its way to sort the problem out and is honest i will give positive feedback.. But if in the case of my fridge the same person gives you 2 different excuses it stinks and i will out them

I work in a company that deals with a commodity which at certain times of the year due to trading patterns becomes hard to acquire therefore we run low on stock.

I soon got wise to the silly idea of telling a customer i could do them X units for a week on Friday. As if production dropped i was made to look a tit.. not only to them but to hauliers they had organised.. Effectively ruining 2 peoples trade / days earnings

. Now i will not promise any order Until the stock is sat in the goods out area. with the customers name written on the pallets.. People respect you a lot more for it even though they moan they cant get a firm date.... (and what we deal with you can't get it from many places) ;)

To our moderator.

How about closing this thread to further posts. We do not need for this forum to be a venue for two parties to have their issues vented in public. Both parties have stated their side.

I have been following this thread with interest and have come to the conclusion that anybody who orders anything online runs a potential risk of problems.

Trouble is we have all become accustomed to trawling the internet searching for bargains, and sometimes it can and does go wrong - fact of life.

This section of the forum is normally very friendly and dedicated to like minded people helping each other out, and that's just the way we would like to keep it.

Whilst I appreciate Darren may have grievances, I really don't feel this is the place to air them.

For this reason I am now closing this thread.
