Hi - i'm just wondering how easy is it to paint my own spoiler....body shops seem to want loads and i have paibnt for my car.....

what steps would i have to take...? ie prep...sanding down etc... number of coats??

any help appreciated...

ok here go's

1. Sand spoiler to get a good key to allow the paint to adhere

2. Spray a light coat of primer on, and rub down gently with some fine wet and dry paper to get it nice and smooth

3. apply another coat of primer

4. allow primer to dry and apply first layer of paint

5. apply seccond layer of paint

6. when paint is dry apply two coats of laquer one after another, allowing time to dry inbetween

If you get any runs DO NOT TRY AND WIPE THEM OFF just let them dry and sand them down with wet and dry and then rebuild the layer.

Its not too hard, just time consuming, but remember the quality of the work mainly depends on the ammount of time preparing it, so just take your time and you will be fine
