Hi there, does anybody have any idea where the fuel pump relay and fuse are on a 1.4 ie fiat tipo? My pump is not working, and it might just need the fuse changing, or relay, but i simply have no idea where they could be. They don't seem to be with the rest of the fuses/relays :-( I am going nowhere fast, and need help:mad:

if u have the I.E. Version so its under the bonnet
behind the engine, you should see a black blastic cover, un-screw the 2 bolts at the top and the cover will come out, u will find a couple of fuses and couple of relays

Thank you ever so much for that, i did have a look at them yesterday morning, and the two 10 amp fuses seemed to be okay, oh dear, must be the pump??

if i remember it right, the fuses is for the lambda sensor and the other one is for the pump

could be one of the relays above the fuses, one of them is resbonsible for the injector itself, remove the fuel-in hose from the throttle body and turn the ignition key one click, if teh pump is ok the disconnected hose should pour fuel, if not i`m afraid its the pump
if the fuel came out, shoul be problem of throttle body or the above mentioned relays

good luck with your problem

Thank you for that information, i have done as you said, and there is no fuel coming out, there is also no voltage going to the pump with ignition on. To be honest, i have given up, and am about to scrap the Tipo. This is the first car, i have not been able to get running again. Why is there no voltage to the pump? Even if i force voltage to the pump, it still dont activate. Both relays click when i switch on, and fuses are fine. I could get another pump, but if it has no voltage, that too would not work. It's all money lad, and i am not totaly sure how the whole fuel system works on this car.

Are we talking the pump in the top of the fuel tank? Scavange from breakers yard another pump?
Yes hellcat, i can get one of a mate for a mere tenner, but what if it does not work after that? I have spent nearly £400 thus far, on parts to make it reliable and runnable, and done all the labour myself, I simply can't gamble anymore on it, i would not mind, but i love Unos and Tipos. It's just that now i have been scarred off. How can i gaurantee it is just the fuel pump, when there is no apparent voltage running to it with ignition on AC?:bang:

Okay boys! I will get that pump off that Tipo, in the breakers yard. It will be a lot of hard toil, as it is under two other cars, and loaded with junk :-(. Then i will pay a tenner for it, fit it, then if it still does not work! I am going to buy another car, and never touch a FIAT again. I fancy a nice fiesta zetec. If she fires up upon fitting the other fuel pump! I might start the love affair over again. Cheers boys :)

Right, got the fuel pump out, and tested it, it is indeed jammed, and there does not seem to be a way of pulling it out of the bucket it sits in. Maybe it has popped a fuse too, thats why there is no voltage to it. Will investigate further, and fit another pump.

I hope this helps, seriously let us know when it works and we''ll celebrate with you. (y)

Will do, going to have to cycle to the scrappy on Saturday though. Good old mountain bike, all it needs is a bit of grub (For energy), then it will take me anywhere my heart desires;)

Fitted new pump, and still no joy, no electric running to pump, or injector for that matter, sounds serious
