I have a standard 500L which I'm sprucing up the paintwork and interior.

My phone is a Samsung S20 and I would like to know what solutions people have come up with in regards positioning of a phone holder.

I don't want the suction type that goes on the windscreen and blocks the view.

The holder must attach without damage and hold firmly ideally with the phone at about clock height.

Pictures would be good and recommendations much appreciated.

Sorry, can't help you with that request---I still get great enjoyment out of using maps and my phone is a 20 year old Nokia--it works perfectly when I turn it on to make a call! Can you hear a phone ring when a 500 is going full chat?

I have a suction cup one that I attach to the very bottom of the windscreen that has a drop down arm, so it basically positions in front of the ash tray. No usable view is obscured - unless you can barely see over the steering wheel to begin with. It vibrates a lot though. The little cinquino isn't the smoothest vehicle around.

I use a suction mount for my LCD dash. Works fine, I get vibration of course, but expected in a classic 500 :D The bonus is the quick removal if needed.

What I have seen others do is to use the ashtray aperture and make up a phone mount that fits into the hole. Not seen anything available to buy off the shelf for that, but would not be too difficult to make up.

I haven't done it but I second using the ashtray space to rig something up. The ashtray pops right out so you could easily go back and forth with it

Personally I never bother with a phone in a car. Not what you want to hear, but I find them distracting when on the go. Even hands free has been shown to be more than a distraction. It’s been proved that they can cause accidents no matter what. Just my thoughts :)

Many thanks for your responses.

Lots of options to consider even going back to the stoneage and map reading!?

Must say the RAM-Mount web pages may have a solution just got to do the leg work to find the one.
