I know its not much but hey its my first time blushes. yes yes im a modification virgin...

Just ordered some clear side repeaters, already have my set of McGards on (2 sets of locking nuts now) and bought some other bits and bobs. Next im painting my callipers red :D

I've been bitten by the modifying bug and i fear i may never recover....

And if you think im weird its because my car before this was a 1.1 metro. My Brava is my first 'real' car :D

thats how it starts mate :)

few little bits and bobs here and there, some better brakes, some performance tyres, clear side repeators all the small suble things then all of a sudden alloys are a prioritiy and then you think....hmn those alloys would look better with a bodykit !

then you realise the interior is miles crapper then the exterior...leather interior, wait a minute i have a decent headunit but the speakers are crap.....

then you get onto...well now my car looks ace and fast but it is slow...engine mods

it is a never ending circle, lol

the end is nigh!!

Its taken 13 months for the modding bug to finally reach its feverish climax in me (in truth - it aint over just yet). It stung me right out of the blue after years of driving without any inclination towards modifcations of any kind to any car i'd previously driven.

I've just totted up my mod list. It's all still a bit hazy, but at the last count I'd reached 70!

Re: the end is nigh!!

70 nico, lol about the same as me then.

i had the modding bug when i had my old astra but it was a banger so i dident want to waste any money on it, i bought the bravo with the intention of moddin it :p within 5 hours i had a set of alloys on her, lol within a week an alarm fitted and got myself a new headunit and started buying loads of ice, lol

taken 2 years but i have gotten rid of the modding bug now :) done everything i wanted to do on the bravo and have throughly enjoyed every minute (wekk ok that is a blatant like but it is best to have good memories) grumble bodyshops ffs

now i have gitten rid of the modding bug...or wait a min..have i ? lol already thinking about a new headunit for the coupe and ice install...ohh ******** :(

Re: the end is nigh!!

had my brava 3 years. bought it with the intension to mod. the saw how expensive modding was. so went to sell it. bought a fiesta 1.25 half modded. spent a little money on this.

THEN like a sign from above....

EBAY had a brava body kit £180.... fiesta went and 2 years later it looks like soo :)

still got the modding bug for my brava. but common sence is telling me to stop so i dunno wat to do now

Re: the end is nigh!!

Well your Brava is very impressive smee.

I have the alloys and i know a full body kit would look awesome! If i found one for about £200 i wouldnt hesitate to do it.

I think the appealing thing is just the pride in work. Doing it yourself just gives you great satisfaction and you look after your car.

I'm absolutely loving it. Put on clear side repeaters today and im buying the hammerite for the callipers within the next couple of days. I can honestly say i have never looked so forward to working on a car.

Quick question: for painting my callipers should i just clean the surface area or sand it down slightly? its a bit rusty with brake dust smothered over it.

Thanks in advance

(oh and another appealing thing is going on a boo cruise! i'm looking forward to my first meet and seeing some of your cars!)
