I've had a search of the forum: but none of the threads on door seals seem to reach any proper sort of conclusion; and the advice given is conflicting (to say the least...).

The internal door seal is ripped, slightly, on the B-pillar. It appears to be only cosmetic -- as there is no water coming in; and no wind noises, etc.... -- but it annoys the heck out of me....

I've found a scrap one, with a much better condition seal: but a quick look (in the rain) makes me think that taking it out could result in damaging the thing... -- especially as it feels like it's glued in (whereas most cars I've had: the seals have been tamped into a groove, etc....).

Is this the case? Is it better to try and obtain a new one from Fluffy, etc. -- or is it worth (even) attempting surgery on both old and replacement: i.e. cut the corresponding length out, and then replace it...?

Thoughts welcome, please -- as I only have until Wednesday morning to retrieve the seal... (and it's been offered to me for free...)! :D

they dont come from the factory glued on but tapped on with a mallet
get your fingers into the edge and pull it off
3 door grommet different to 5 door mind
get some pledge on it when fitted so it doesnt rip again in the next freeze:)
