When did the car last have a FULL and proper service? Because anything worn on the suspension department would be spotted, but probably not on a basic oil and filter service.
nah defo from the wheel side of things all im wanting to know really is car spares have told me its a wishbone and other people have told me ball joint and i dnt wanna buy a ball joint if its a wishbone so on so on
The bottom ball joint is part of the bottom swing arm "wishbone". You cant get the joint on its own. Daft, but that's the way with most cars these days.
i had that same noise.. and mine was the ball joint that had gone.. you have to replace the whole wishbone tho cause you cant buy just the ball joint for these its an easy job to do tho
Jack it up and rock the wheel top to bottom. Apply foot brake, if rocking continues then it's normally ball joint. If rocking stops with foot brake applied it's normally wheel bearing.
If side to side rocking (without turning steering itself) then its normally a steering component.
