Hi all, just changed rear gearbox mounting on my '98 sporting, straight forward enough job, except.... that now i'm getting a vibration through the floor, especially on startup?? it's like something's rubbing on the floorpan somewhere? anyone else ever had this problem? i checked the exhaust in case i'd knocked something but nothing's touching the floorpan anywhere... i'm stumped!!:)

I had to change the rear gearbox mount on my Mk1 60S when I replaced the clutch and since then the car vibrates excessively. I even replaced afterwards the other two mounts and still no improvement on the vibration. In my case the vibration is worst when the engine is cold and when the engine is under load at 1-2k rpm. When engine is warm vibrations are less but still there. Not sure if in my case the mount is at fault as I also changed the clutch.

cheers for replies, fingers, the mk1's can only go in one way (as far as i can tell) they go up through the floorpan.....
dumbledore, i'm glad you replied because i was gonna look at replacing the other mountings next!! saved me a job, all i can think is maybe the rubber will soften in time? i hope so as it's annoying!!
i might just pull it off again tomorrow and double check it's sitting right, can't be much else really? :) thanks for help.....
