I have just bought a 1999 mk1 1.2 sx punto 5 door and have a few questions

I have had a few screches coming from on of the belts which i assumed was the alternator but when i came to tighten it i couldnt work it out? Any help? Pics would be great? :)

Also i want to get some alloys but what is the biggest size alloys and wheels i can fit without too much work? Or smaller size and lowering it? Whats a good combination other people hve used? Pics would be great :)

Also i do not like the seperated indicator look? I have sern some people have a one peice hedlight/indictor? Is this an aftermarket part or jus from a mk 2?? How much work is invloved with putin mk2 lights in? Are the after market parts a direct fit? How does it affect the headlight adjuster ?

Cheers

Alternator belt is relatively easy to tighten. You need to move the alternator itself to tighten the belt. There are 3 bolts that hold the alternator to the engine block. Slacken them and the adjust the alternator accordingly until the belt is tighter. Don't over tighten as it will reduce the life of the belt.

Wheels, well, 17s will physically fit ok but on a 1.2 8v engined car, you are just going to make it unbearably slow. I wouldn't go bigger than 15" in all honesty. 195/50 tyres all round to keep it sensible. 195/45 if you like a stiff ride.

Mk2 headlights do not fit. Sure, you could modify the front end to make them fit but it would be a lot of work. There are after market light outs there that are one piece. Why not just get some clear indicators rather than the standard amber? Will look much better and far cheaper.

Ye when i came to it i thought i would jus loosen the bolt on the right and lever it forward an re tighten, then i realised there were 2 more bolts, will sort it tommorow :)

Ok i was thinking 15's cos im on a bit of a budget an there seems to be alot on ebay. I know fitment is 4x98, but have been told 4x100 are ok if you use woble bolts? Has any1 used them?

Ye minimum i wanna do i get them clear, sure i can pick them up at scrap yard cheap
