Hello everybody :)

Been thinking about changing out the nasty orange indicators on my 1997 60 SX for some nice clear ones. The car is a very light metallic blue, so i think clear would probably be better than smoked/black.

Now I've seen this kind of thing that would fit in just fine with my standard headlights.

These look a damn sight nicer in my opinion though. I get the feeling they'd look ridiculous with the standard headlights though?

Is my only option for projector style indicators to go down the angel eye route and have my indicators and headlights match?

They do look sexy, but it's £20 for just the bog standard clear indicators, and about £200 for the full angel eye treatment. Some advice is needed! (And pictures would be bloody brilliant!)

Also, am i likely to be able to fit these myself (this is my first car, and i sure as hell ain't no mechanic lol!) or will i need to pay a garage to do the business for me?

I know this subject has been covered before, but i guess what i'm really after is pictures of examples. Especially a light coloured punto with standard headlights and projector indicators, at least that way i can see if it looks silly or not before buying any parts!

Cheers :)

They are as simple as you can get - there is a spring clip (grips onto the inner wing) behind the unit, pull that away from the front of the car and the indicator slides out with very little effort.

the projector ones look very nice IMO, but not seen them on a light blue punto

Thanks for the replies :)

I'd rather go for a cheapish change for the time being, bit skint having just bought the car, taxed it, insured it etc (that and the stock headunit can't really stay for long!)

cinqysxmk2, i really like the look of your car by the way :) any mods i'll be doing will be nice subtle ones a little along the lines of yours (nice doorhandles ;)) I'll probably stick to the main headlights like you have, is there any reason you've stuck with the 'standard' looking indicators instead of the projector style ones? There's no real difference in price, i'm just worried that mismatched lights might look a bit gash! i haven't seen any pictures of a car with regular headlights paired with projector style clear indicators, and trust me i've been looking!

cheers

imo you should just save up your money for the full angel eye set. Looks the dogs knackers and is an easy job to fit. These are one of the hottest mods around for the punto at the mo in my opinion :)

cheers for the suggestion cash :) i guess it makes sense to wait a little and go for a nicer set of angel eyes, instead of spending a little on clear indicators now, then a month down the line taking them out again to fit the really nice set!

looks like i don't know very much though... is there a difference between 'angel eyes' and 'halos'? i really like the look of the glowing circle halo's, but assumed that was just how angel eyes looked if they were set to sidelights or something?

Is there any difference between them? If so, are there any pro's and con's for each? Afterall, i don't want cool looking lights that dont actually light up the road! Function before form for me i'm afraid.

So, any thoughts?

Cheers :)

edit: completely offtopic, but why do people obscure their number plates when postng images of their cars online? always wondered about that...

Angel eyes and Halos are the same thing mate.

I found when I had them (on a Clio not on my Punto) the sidelight (halo ring) didnt cover quite as much as the standard sidelight did but it looked great and to be honest sidelights are only really so other people can see you not so you can see the road.

I would personally save your money for a month and buy the black angel eyes (y)

As for the number plate covering, its just so their registration number isnt being circulated around the net, doesnt actually make much difference imo tho

Thanks for that clarification si :)

Do you really think black angel eyes would suit a light blue punto?

I've gone and bought a cheap digital camera online today, specifically for taking a few pictures of the car! should be delivered within the week, then i guess i can try my hand at photoshopping in the eyes :D

Can't wait to get pictures of my little punto. Doubt it'll suit many tases on here though... Came with colour coded bumpers, and um, that's about it! No alloys, no lowering, badges firmly in place, orange indicators (yuk), um, everything standard i think!

Tempted to look into some blue plasma dials now too. Man, i thought buying a car was expensive, tarting her up a bit is just as bad i think!!

edit: trying to get my sig to work!

No probs mate, I charge per piece of info so dont ask too many questions :p lol

I think the black angel eyes suit any colour car mate, light or dark, the black looks the nuts, I had the chrome ones on my Clio and thought they looked a bit tacky, considered opening them up and colour coding the interals and doing the same to the lexarse lights I had, thought that would look cool but never got around to it.

Nothing wrong with a standard Punto mate, gotta remember this is a Fiat forum and not a modded car forum so there are people that like standard Fiats as well as modded ones (corse most people do modify on here).

Modding a car costs more than buying a car in my limited experience. My Punto is stadard at the moment but I plan on getting a few subtle mods on it soon, just done stereo and a little bit of smoothing around the bodywork so far....

just done stereo

Well that's a neccessity ;)

I'll spend a little time and money on ICE i guess, but for the sake of security and that I'm gonna keep the outside stock for a while (except the indicators/headlights of course).

So long as I can enjoy being in it, the outside can stay as it is :D

si-punto is right, the chrome ones do look tacky and cheap, go black and you wont go back! lol! there are two types of these currently available for the punto, one has a single angel eye while the other has two. however the one with the dual eyes doesnt have the little light in the corner or the led on the opposite corner as far as i know, these come on with your sidelights on my ones. i think the led looks mint and is a very unique look. have a look in my gallery and you can see what i mean and what they look like at night. theyre defo my fave mod yet. i see youre thinkin of getting plasma dials, mine are arriving tomorrow (hopefully) so ill post pics when i have them fitted so you can have a look. they have a control on them so you can adjust the brightness and change the colour from green to blue or a mix in between. :D

The first set they sent me were wrong, so I sent them a message and about 4 days later they sent me a new set no quibble, and they fitted. Completly different to the first set! But they've been sent from Bulgaria which I found strange
But I recommend these ones (y)
