General mk1 cooling system

i have just recently put in new radiator in it about2-3weeks ago i am wondering if the system will have to be bled after so long of putting a new rad in reply asap please as my temp guage got to just past the black point on half way mark then the fan kicked in is this high or normal?

Is same as my mk1 is normal and the car was in traffic. Definitively start worrying if 3/4 up.

if the bleed process is good then you will have a hot heater

and as said it should just a tiny weenie bit over half way for the fan to kick in

However with how cold its getting/got, the fan might not even need to kick in

esp if you running the cabin heater

Mine never had a temp gauge, it had a "light" which never had a bulb nore electronics for a bulb, so how would i know if mines overheating? I got a gauge now, but i CBA with the sensor just yet, as i hardly go far at all. Though when i do go what i call "far" usually around 20 miles or so, when i park up home the fans are going mental, so im gonna say yours sounds like mine? Could be wrong :/

Be Arsed. A temp guage is by a long way the best accessory for any car without one. If you're crawling around in traffic, expect the cooling fan to come on. If not, bleed and fit that sensor.

Which punto, of even fiat, am i meant to find this sensor? The sensor i got has only one pin which seems pretty useless, as im sure a sensor needs a live feed an earth and a signal connection!

If your dial is aftermarket, get one to match the dial.

i'd rather buy new, i know what the thread pitch and everything is, just not sure what the actual sensor looks like :s
