Technical Mk1 1.6 injector problem

I have tested coolant sensor and is working ok using a multimeter and saucepan to test resistance also have another sensor in engine when engine started up runs okay but when temp it at normal temp the sensors kick in the car starts to splutter and sounds like misfiring but doesn't stall and if you put foot in accelerator for 20 seconds at 2000 rpm then the injector light comes on and I notice there is a lot of soot around tail pipe seems to be running rich but If I disconnect the coolant sensor and connect the spare one up but not fitted to engine it runs smooth again because sensor thinks it cooler because it isn't in the engine I'm getting 5v on power and resistance is getting less when heating up any ideas please
 
Oh right it started when pump give up and also found the fuel filter the wrong way around when I was checking for probs and put it back the right way wondered if that caused the blockage on injector the car runs okay but you can hear a very slight misfire on idle or 2000rpm and splits a little out exhaust aswell light comes on when cars at temp sensor kicked in

i rly wonder what slight misfire u mean do u got any sound clip of it?
 
It's a very slight muffled popping every 2 seconds roughly on idle and does it when revved to a higher rpm aswell I've has new plugs coil
Pack and ht leads still no luck weird the signal wire must be working to coolant sensor to the ecu unless ecu is fubar or I was wondering if new fuel pump not any good
 
Would it cause over fuelling also I have noticed that when I'm driving and then release throttle car try's to hold back and slow down as if the idle not running in conjunction of the speed it's doing it's like have the brake on slightly dragging but it isn't like if you drive normally in 4th car doesn't sound as if it is working hard but it is sounding as if I'm driving around in second as opposed to when it was fine about 6 months ago before I has the hassle with the pump I only paid £36 for fuel pump I was wandering if it was a cheap Chinese copy or something I bought it new of eBay could that cause the problem not sure on testing fuel pressure but it seems to happen within 10 minutes of driving or when car is running temp and driving foot on throttle or started up and stationery it's ok then when warmed up and put throttle down the eml light is on again I will try and upload vid of popping
 
I have tested ecu that is connected to coolant sensor and it is working fine reading tolerances hotter it gets the lower resistance when the fan kicks in the resistance goes up again gradually so I can rule that problem out
