Seicento  MitsiCento

Introduction

well back with a fresh fiat and think i have got my grubby little mits on a half decent little motor

what i have is a 2000 Yreg seicento sx 1108mpi, i bought it as spares or repares due to a headgasket problem but dont think it is myself, so got it as a cheap little project and see what magic i can pull with it lol
still in the planning stages at the mo as wanted to sort the cosmetics out first but i have a couple of ideas floating around, dont expect this to be a quick build as its purely a project and its one i am going to take my time with since i have another car and this is on my lawn at the mo lol, time will tell what i do but i want to do something thats different so need to do alot of research into whats been done already.

well the car is currently being used as a shed lol, its got loads of random parts in it, i have decided what ever i do its going to be a track car only so that means out with the interior and seats and anything thats not vital to the construction of the car.

on that not check classifieds

right i have finally decided i cant be ar**d with the ecu problems this car is going to cause when i swap or tune this engine so i have sold it to my dad which means its getting something that i know has never been tried before and will result in it being a total animal. watch this space to see what happens to it, you think the redtop was a tight squeeze:slayer:

well its been a while but here it is, my dad picked the car up last week and has started work on the wee little beast in hiding.

the mitsy gto v6?

Ash

sooo very close mate, to get it into the right class in autograss racing it is an fto 1998cc v6, measuring it up i recon it could be done and keep it road legal as the engine is narower than the 1108 but the rad would need to be moved and the heater matrix is gone lol. will see how my dad does and then may try to do a road legal version sometime.

not sure but i recon twice as heavy as the stock 1108 but standard are 197bhp as its the mivec we are using that has been chipped so recon about 220bhp plus a boat load of torque, we will be racing cars with redtops that are tuned to the limits and producing around 200bhp so if we really put our minds to it i recon 250bhp could easily be got.

as for a road version the weight over the rear to make it abit more balanced (cos i know thats where your going blu) all the cooling would be relocated to allow for the engine and the wheel base would have to be widened abit and we would be converting to dual wishbone front suspension (like we are planning for the race car) and beefing up the front shocks and ARB, possibly going for an fto ARB but not totally sure yet as we need to get the engine sat in place and then build the car around it, think mini 2.0ltr and you will have the right idea as to what we are doing with a one piece lift off front end and tubular chassis.

you'd probably be better off with a type r engine however i'm pretty sure they are double the price of fto's lol

a type r engine is arond £1k to £1.5k where as a full fto can be bought for around 300 lol that and the fact we know someone who races with a type r k20 and spent £3k on tuning and a rebuild and gained 8bhp, we can gain 25bhp on the fto just by changing the way the exhaust is designed (done it on our old class 9 buggy non mivec with 195bhp stock 168bhp) plus a remap and a port matched inlet and maybe some very wild cams i recon its good for 250bhp for less than the price of a stock k20:slayer:

wow, thats ambitious. Looks like you're gonna need to shift the entire firewall to get it far back enough to line the driveshafts up.

Hope you get it done though, awesome idea!

actually the out put on the gear box is out the back alot cos the fto box positions everuthing similar to the stock setup. we have had to remove the heater matrix shelf thing but thats it. work has stalled alittle due to work but half the roll cage is in place and once that is done the engine loops will be welded to that and then braces off the engine hoops to the chassis. unfortinatly rules dont allow us to have a frame bar around the front of the engine (rules state all cage and tubular chassis has to be behind the front most point of the engine) we have a v6 which means the top of the bank is in front of the bottom so we might be able to come up with something but its headers permitting. still trying to talk my dad into 6 bike carbs and standalone ignition but he wants to go fuel injection, hmmmmmm 6 itbs????

munkul mate just saw what you were looking at and what you mean about the bulkhead, the problem in that pic is the engine was only held in place by the engine lift and was leaning back a little but trust me we did measured it all first and made sure it would all fit that and the fact we do have a little laeway on the positioning as we are converting to dual wish bone front suspension very similare to what we used on the buggy.
