Introduction

well back with a fresh fiat and think i have got my grubby little mits on a half decent little motor

what i have is a 2000 Yreg seicento sx 1108mpi, i bought it as spares or repares due to a headgasket problem but dont think it is myself, so got it as a cheap little project and see what magic i can pull with it lol
i may get one lol just never had any probs on my cinq but that was a 1242 on a cinq rad which had seen better days lol, yeah ok you have convinced me i will get one as it seems stupid to basically rebuild the engine with HG kit and new timing kit along with sump and an oil change and not put a new thermo in lol, yeah i will stick one in as in for a penny in for a pound lol or is it the other way.
 
right got a little bored today and since i aint got a timing kit or torque wrench to do the HG and cant be a**ed to do the lowering kit i had a little fiddle with the air filtration system.

let me know what you think, its basically a focus kit bend and alloy pipe along with a cda filter and a silicone 90 and the end of the alloy pipe off the focus kit sits nicely behind the bumper to feed it cold air and the take off for the breather i have wedged a pipe clip thing which hold it in place until i have done the HG when i will fashion a better bracket to hold it all.

i did once try what your doing with an air feed pipe but gave up as it seemed a lot of work and expense for little gain but the way your going seems better just needs something to throw a little more air in!

in total its cost me £50 for the cda, £17 for the sillycone elbow, and £12.50 for the focus kit off a member on here, but i bought these things for my nissan then took them off so just making use of them now lol, got an oil catch with breather filter in blue and thats just lying around so may fit that too lol. might do the springs and shocks tomorrow

am i right that the sx is 20mm higher than the sporting?? if so means i have a 60mm drop all round, should make it sweet on the pgt wheels
 
well unfortinatly my little project has ground to a hault, i came off my bmx yesterday in a half pipe and injured my knee so i am laid up for a week or so, well at least it gives me time to buy all the new stuff for the engine so i can almost completely rebuild the head, hmmmmm might send it off to be max skimmed, on the front of the thermostat its getting pulled out and not replaced, pennies my a**e, cheapest i have found a new one for local is £37+vat, thats more that the timing kit or the HG kit.

also got to fit the lowering kit and then buy the sporting bumpers i want and it will be done and that will be phase 1 done with.:slayer:
 
right got an update, its been a few weeks but got my oil catch tin fitted along with the breather, also as i now need the caron the road in a rush i decided to just rip the internals out of the thermo as a temp measure and found that the plunger was basically welded in place, so pulled that out and yey we have water circulation but now we have a new problem, it seems that the fan is goosed too, so now have to replace that too. what a pain this so called bargin is turning out to be now. oh and before anyone says yes i have bled it through properly.
 
nope and i even ran a wire direct from the battery to the fan and still nothing.

Update. this has taken a back burner for a few days/a week lol been laid under the ody yesterday stripping the bottom end and the parts for that are now on their way from belgium so that will hopefully be back on the road at the weekend.
 
does your Sei have a 16 pin plug its under the dash passengers side this might shed some light will plug it in when am passing next week should be over tue I think lol
 
I'm not sure but i will have a wee look in abit, i know it has the obd2 under drivers side if that helps?? oh and its defo an early (as in one of the first) MPI sei's as it was 2001 they swapped over (someone correct me if i am wrong).
