General Mileage issue

Hi,

I have a 2006 fiat ducato motorhome.
The automatic gearbox hot oil warning light was on all the time even though it has a manual gearbox.
The garage condemned the old clock cluster, got a second hand cluster, fitted it and warning light has now gone.
The problem I have now is the new mileage is 180K when old mileage was 25K.
I got a man out who tried to reset the mileage through the obd port but it to no avail.
Can you give me any advice how to get this resolved?

The recorded mileage is stored in the Bodycomputer..
What did it say? ( probably be in KMs..)

the dash display can only be Raised...not Lowered..
( the whole point of displays going digital)

I suppose you could punt it up to a figure..maybe 999,999 and see what happens as it 'rolls over'

MES software will help with the reading of bodycomputer ;-)

HI varesecrazy,
The mileage correction units he tried (he tried 2) could not connect to the ecu at all.
Is there a microchip in the odometer that can be adjusted at all?
As you can imagine an extra 120k miles on the clock is not a good thing

forget about adjusting the speedo, just take photos of speedo prefereably in position with error showing and then one with new speedo.
i have had to do this twice, once the car was written off and the insurance accepted the photos as evidence. The MOT data will also support this . Dont clock it.
