I think I need to put more seed down as well, mine has turned into a bed of moss over the winter

nar you need a box of lawn feed weed and mosskiller

just re-seed it, you can get special tough grass seed for play areas,

It was the dogs fault he dug loads of holes when he was a puppy. I know nothing about grass, is there a specific type. There are also some trees which mean part of the garden is in the shade as well.

In case anybody is good with gardening, can you cut out tree roots where they stick up through the grass or will this kill the tree. The lawnmower was a bit messed up after I went over them.
