its either not too bad or im getting used to the temperature up here. and ive already cut it (back garden) just fretting over if itll die in the next frost. besides i had to cut it before the mrs did as she would have scalped it with the mower on summer setting. i is off to qatar on friday you see. apparently its bloody colder than this place at night out there! dammit.
its always too early for mowing the lawn. hehe
should be no need it shouldnt be growing fast yet, trav is fed up he has eaten all ours and its not growing
just cut it then you dont have to cut it when you get back

I will give mine a nice 'high' cut once weather permits - meant to give it a late 2004 cut, but never got round to it.
Same here Stuie, back garden is looking a little worse for wear

Good point Helzie, my blade on my Briggs&Stratton has a few stone/rock chips in it...
I went so OTT with my little mower last time I snapped one of its blades right off . Will be a little more careful this time

Paulie is up for lawn mowering, pay my transport costs and i will do it for free if you feed me.
If you do cut it, don't scalp it. Leave it on medium or high setting for the first few cuts after the winter, a pro gardener assures me it's a lot better for it.

Just a bit of inside knowledge, I think B&Q will be dropping the price of lawnmowers either this fri or next to trigger early spring sales on gardening things. We have had absolutely shed loads of lawnmowers come in ready to go on sale shortly and they are clearing an area in the gardening dept. This usually happens just before something like this goes on promotion so keep an eye on the telly.

How is it dry enough to mow it? Haven't had a dry day when I've had enough daylight to do it - or do you cut it wet and how does it come out?

Hmm, to cut over the winter can't be good, but what do I know Saying that, our lawn is not really lawn, more moss - however, I will give it a good high cut once weather, and more importantly, time permits - it takes me so long
