No idea, never heard of it before, heard of Tisselelectronica, but not mckritch, I'd be wary, it may be genuine but you aren't going to notice huge differences, as the only time you need/get a new ecu is because you need a mappable one i.e you have chaged a lot of the fueling equipment or injectors etc Or if you have a computer controlled turbo thing, and the ecu sorts that out.

for my sisters punto 60 will a mckrich fit it? how much are they? do you have to tell insurance?? how much power increase? thanks (y)
FFS use the search! you have been onthe forum long enough to know.
as for do you need to tell the insurance, what do you think?theres been enough threads on insurance lately.

faster 4 tec. mckritch is a guy in the cento section who designed a cheap chip for the cento sporting 1108 spi engine. check in the cinq section for more info

I wouldnt be wary at all. the guy is on here and has been approved for selling these chips on the forum. Himself and another ECU technicain developed them in their spare time so id say it should be spot on (y) There are a good few people on the forum that say they are extremely pleased with the results too :D So, it all depends on the ECU which is probably exactly what you want to know, When i emailed him, im sure he said he did them for the 1108 and the 1242 but not 1.2 SPI which is a bit upsetting lol

Sorry, ddint realy answer much there, i would pm Mckrich and give him the reg. the car, im pretty sure it will even if it is an auto, BUT some ECU's need to be broken into and others just unscrew. The ones that need broken into are sealed units and are soldered, so all you need to do it unsolder to get it out, but others just dis-assemble or similar and clip into place. This also rules out the need for the red key system (y)

McKritch's chip has been used in several 1242s. Randomman springs to mind straight away. I'm not sure if they fit the MPi ECUs, but something tells me it won't. A quick search should clear that up straight away :)

Just to clarify a couple of points for everyone........................

The chip costs £43 if you buy it through PayPal, £40 if you buy by cheque (I think, but its around this price range). You will have to inform the insurance company of the chip. On its own, it may not make a large power/torque improvement. However, the increase in drivability would be much more noticeable, especially when combined with the likes of an uprated TB, such as one of Tricker's TBs. :)

but what chip would you say? because surely "chips" range in power from chip to chip. :)

The map programmed into the chip is exactly the same for each and every chip that is designed for that given engine, so theoretically you should get the same power and torque increase for every single chip and engine. Of course, there would be variations, as no two engines are exactly the same :)

sorry whats the point in chipping an auto, its slow enough as it is. no chip in the world will make hardly any difference
