Tuning May need an engine rebuild

The other night my car cut out on me with some very nasty sounds coming from the engine, it starts sometimes but when it does it sounds horrendous.

Pulled all the sparks and coils out yesterday and found on spark had been crushed and they were all soaking with petrol, I'm not sure how the spark would have been crushed, but it could be the Pistons cracked or bits have come off or the valves

Anyone have an ideas, I'm a bit stumped

Maybe detonation? The Launch Control module may have caused a random spark that destroyed a valve or a piston. Sorry to hear it dude hope it gets sorted

Yeah that's the other fault I though, I wasn't using the lc when it happened though

Ouch, sorry to hear of your engine issues.

Does sound like you were pushing hard on the mods and eeking out what performance you could.

Did you use original sparks? It's happened to me once but luckily the parts of the spark were hanging on the spark itself the problem was just with the ignition and the car did not run fine.I wish you all the best, by the things described you have a total.Do not try to tun the car engine anymore it has to be serviced.

If you do not intend on repairing the engine yourself then I would suggest just getting a replacement second hand unit, off a scrapped rear ended Bravo/GP.

Taking the engine apart and diagnosing it will cost quite a few bucks, add to that the parts and the time to put it back together and it might get very expensive.

try new plugs and get the car plugged in to check sensors

sounds as if he's done that..,
has all the marks of detonations to me,
IF you're worried about removing the head, use a cheap ( @ £15 = ebay) borescope down all 4 x plug holes,
then you'll get an idea of what's going on,

TBH - IF it sounds BAD running, then it's probably toast : - (

really appreciate the help guys, I'm doing a compression test on cylinder 2 and ill see the results, the other thing may be a broken turbo and something has gone into the engine, but i really really hope its the sparks

0 compression in cylinders 2 and 3 and only 50-70 in 1 and 4, not good news

looks like I'm going to need a new engine as i can only find forged pistons, and an engine is about £1600, so I'm looking into the idea of and engine swap, obviously not 2jz or v10's but its a good opportunity to look into it, anyone have any ideas?

obvious choice is the Alfa 1750 TBi engine

I'm sure you can find a cheaper t-jet ... about one year ago somebody (here in Romania) was selling second hand GP Abarth and 500 Abarth engines for about 1000 euro.

Search the scrappers , take a look in Italy and Germany also.

Corsa VXR would be easier.

Don't forget Corsa's/ Grande Punto's share a lot of parts so I'm thinking the 1.6T engine would go in nicely
