Am I asking for trouble if I have three devices on a multi adapter on my lighter socket? Garmin Nuvi, Pure Highway and a Nokia phone charger...

Nope, the current socket is nominally rated for 15A, and the fuse is even for 20A, thats about 200W of power.

All these three devices are quite miniscule comparing to this ;)

I've run 2 Nokia chargers, Ipod charger, TomTom charger, 2 Nintendo DS chargers and one DVD (2 screens) player through my lighter socket (with multi socket adaptors) all at once with no problems. :)

Watts = Volts x Amps

At 12v, 15amp fuse allows 180w current -- which would be a lot of chargers plugged in!

More of an issue is the likely short-circuit potential with lots of adaptors and plugs lying around. Some of these multi-way 12v adaptors are really nastily made, and offer little protection to keep 'foreign' metal objects' out (eg loose change, foil wrappers etc)

pah 180 watts can reach that no problems with an inverter ;)

My Multiplug thingy is a fairly sturdy Draper one so it should be grand construction wise; thanks for the info.
