Hi everybody, and thanks for all of the invaluable tips and info. I have spent many a happy hour browsing this forum, and it has proved invaluable.

I hope im posting in the correct area.

I am the proud owner of a 1.6 sx Marea Weekend, 99 I think, and have been abroad for the last year, and the poor old car has been left standing around. Im in the process of getting it roadworthy. It passed the MOT yesterday, so things arnt too bad.

Now, I have a couple of dud injectors, I think. I have performed the ohms test, and 2 and 3 were below par. The engine sounds like a diesel and the dreaded engine management light is on

This morning I took the upper manifold off, disconnected the leads from the loom, undid the two torx screws, but I just could not shift the fuel rail, it seems stuck. Its my first time doing this, so I did not want to force the thing and break it.

Am I doing something wrong, or have I missed something ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I have searched for advice on the removal of the rail, but most post just say slip it out, and that's not happening

Cheers

there are 3 bolts holding the fuel rail on, not 2.

it is difficult to remove, the rubber seals on the injectors seem to seize the fuel rail to the head. its very wise to replace the rubber seals on each injector, they dont cost much.

Cheers for that, I will have another go tomorrow, I thought I must be doing something wrong :)

Have managed to get the rail off, and have deduced that I need 3 new injectors.

Has anybody got any idea where I might get some ?

I have posted in the classified, items wanted, and have tried all of the local breakers.

The cheapest that I can get them new around this neck of the woods is 85 quid, plus vat , each :eek:.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as ever.

Thanks

Hi there,

Just in case people are wondering, I found the most amazing spares place, with over 3000+ cars and they take credit cards and can post out if you live too far to collect. It is called Doncaster Motor Spares and their number is 08450940201. I got a rack of injectors on a rail for £65+VAT and as I was in the area I collected them the same day.

They are the cheapest I have found ever since February when i first started to look for injectors.

Hope this helps anyone.
