Technical Many problems with my Punto - HELP!

If it isnt the multiplug like suggested alli can add to this is be prepared to cough up for an auto sparky as you could be there days trying to find a short. If youre going to have a go at fixing things y,self, invest in a haynes manual, they are always usefull if youre not too clued up on motors. Good luck!!(y)

If lights come on when you switch the fan heater on it is the connector.....trust me I do this repair on a weekly basis! If i'm wrong i'll donate a fiver(y)
Pull down the connector & try & pull the plug apart.....chances you cant because its melted together!
Why would you need a sparky.............been doing it for nearly 20 years;)

The grating noise could be brake pads! I bought a set of luca's pads to fit my punto, I didn't change discs as they were well within tolerances, greased up the sliding bolts, and free'd up the caliper etc.

I think I did this when I first got the car and this happened in september/oct 05, driving around on a trip (up north of bewick upon tweed), first brakes started to grind, then grate, and then no power, within maybe 8,000miles of them being new, I hadn't used them alot (I am not one of those people who drive about with their foot on teh brake all the time, I only brake to avoid a collision, or if drving one of my fav roads hard) and they were worn to the metal on one side of one pad and the other three pads must have been within 1.5mm of wearing out!!! Utter crap. And because of our location we had to get em sorted by the nearest garage, well choice of two, either a kwikfit, who said, oh we can get discs but those pads won't be here till tommorrow, told em where to stick it (they only take from one motorfactor and they were miles away), hi Q told me the same thing, so me and deb's set off into berwick and found a private little motorfactors and bought pads there, £32 but they are mintex type Q pads or somesuch, anyway they are the competitor to green stuff, and got hi q to fit them and discs (discs were wrecked on that side due to pad material getting jabbed against them for a good 20miles!).

So its en

Thats exactly why HE might need a sparky!!!
YOU have been doing it for 20yrs, Ziggy1 hasnt and tho it seems easy to you it might not to ziggy.:nerner:
Ziggy has already mentioned hes a bit lacking in the technical side, yet even i was getting lost with the way you went about describing it,Sorry. (if its this its that, and if its that its the connector....... wot connector?,..... where?)
Like i said, you were losing me and ive rebuilt cars from scratch. Im not critisizing, far from it but i think you need to go into a bit more detail sometimes with people.:peace:

Yeah Ian you do make it sound soooooooooooooooooooo simple just because you actually know the answer. LOL.

Unfortuantely guys you ask for advice, if you cant act on that advice then you need to get professionals to do it for you. But then you dont want to pay for professionals to do the work for you either. :bang:
