Hi All,

I was looking at the exhaust manifold, as it seems to be sounding a bit gruff under load. (might change the manifold to head gasket). Anyway, I noticed I don't have part of the support bracket (part 6 in the diagram). I'm assuming it should be fitted on the Barchetta, otherwise they'll be high loadings to the joint to the head as the engine rocks etc?

If anyone could confirm it would be appreciated,

Cheers

Mike

Manufacturers never spend money if unnecessary, so if they list it best to keep it on the car.
Cast iron manifolds always dampen sound better, but if you have any stainless steel parts it will sound tiny in my opinion, it may not rust but can fracture due to the higher tensity metal.
A blow at the manifold due to warped flanges may be worth checking, sometimes you can locate it by having someone "blip " the throttle whilst you hold a thick cloth over a suspect area. Don't burn your hands or set fire to the cloth, says the voice of experience.;)
