General Manifold Heat Shield

HI,

my manifold heat shield was held on with on bolt as all the other where snapped when i pought the car, now even that one bolkt is comming loosse and the whole heat shield is rattling everytime i drive especially when i take my foot off the throttle.

All i want to know is, is it safe to remove the heat shield?? can i just undo the last bolt and thro the shield in the bin or will it do summat to engine or radiator or summat, or make it overheat cos well all the heat is not "shielded"

It's safe to remove. I drove 1 year without it and no problem. I think is mainly for you not to get burned.
