Finally got around to do the service on my M-jet, i did the 36k so oil/air/pollen/diesel filters all replaced along with the brake fluid.
I used the selenia WR 5W/30 oil instead of the 5W/40 as i was told by my mate (fiat technican) its the oil they use now instead of the 5W/40 as my handbook states.

The brakes feel sharper and the power has increased slightly, so im very pleased with that.

2 new tyres also ( 2nd set since ive had it ).

The pollen filter was very very dirty as was the air filter, i personally prefer to replace oil and filters every 10-12 or every year, hopefully i will see a increase in MPG to:p

Looking to keep my beast for a good few more years because i just love it:D

That's interesting.

Next week I'm going on second service on 20 000 km, and after 21 months. I must ask boys in the garage are they going to change brake fluid.

Do you know how much does it cost?

Brake fluid is changed every 2 years. i would say its around £70 at the dealers.

I got a major discount also on everything including the tyres:D

I know that, but here in Croatia, I thing that they don't change it.

It seems very expensive. I have to check before my service. I will ask them for the price.

I've just booked mine in the local fiat stoneacre, it's gonna cost me £393 for 36k and MOT!!!! The other fiat garage in Lincoln was the same. I am now officially broke. That also includes a £40 discount and a half price MOT. I'm vey scared about when my girlfriends Golf TDI needs a service now...
Strangely, FIAT reckon my MOT isn't due till October, but the DVLA insist it's July. Having it done anyway to be sure and as it's half price.

Put your registration number and make into www.vehiclelicense.gov.uk

Click on Vehicle Enquiry, enter your details and it'll tell you a little bit of info including the date of first registration. The MOT is due 3 years from this date (y)

MOT? so I assume you car is 3 years old then and should be due its 3rd service which is 54,000 service and is similar to first service (not a big service)

Car is indeed 3 years old, but bought used last year at 12k. Service history shows that the service that it hasn't yet had a 36k (big one) service yet, so will need one. Besides, service intervals are 18 Months so should be due second service at this time anyway? Although I service them at 18k regardless of time as I do 25k per year. So is £400 right for this then?

Btw I checked with the dvla who said reg date was 31/07/2007, fiat are still adamant that it is October. I'm sticking with the dvla to stay on the right side of the law!

I was told 18 months or 18k whichever comes first. Hmmm odd, that another thing I have been lied to about if it's not true. Like I said I do mine much more frequently anyway due to the miles I do.

The second service on 20 000 kilometers.

Only oil and oil filter and brake fluid are changed.

It cost me 60£ (~71€).

I paid 4 liters instead 3 liters oil. That is very annoying, and they didn't give me one liter back

But fortunately they fixed other couple of things under warranty.
