Technical Major oil leak after sitting on drive for 1 yr

After 1 year of my '04 punto sitting on my drive I attempted to start it, battery was flat and oil level had dropped so I put 2.5 litres in and jump-started it. After 100 metres my oil-light came on and looked behind me to see a new puddle of oil and a trail following me. My car experience is very limited along with my financial budget so would welcome any ideas as to what the cause and remedy would be.

We'll need some pictures of the engine underneath. Its got to be something pretty big to leak that badly.

Here's a wild guess - maybe the oil filter has rusted into a hole. They are pretty thin metal.

Or maybe the sump?
