i think you should cut the bump stops cause otherwise once the car has dropped it will sit on them and could lead to handling problems, well thats how i understand it

its easier to cut them when you have the suspension off

i have no pics unfortunatly, but they should be easy to spot if you stick your head under the car, they foam stoppers

you can tell if the rears havent been done as you can see that the car is resting on them

mine been cut in half

got pic of the front, as my lovely assistant shows :p

i cant see how im having any problems by not chopping them, car is handling like never before, perfect in every way, guy who fitted them said they not need cut down and that ages ago when he had a corsa he cut them down and it made it worse.
By cutting them down are u not just allowing a tiny bit more of suspension travel which would cause a little more roll in corners whereas mines dont roll at all, and do f1 cars not have pretty much no suspension which gives for better handling??

Yeah but F1 tracks aint like the usual roads in the UK, Do you really wanna feel every bump and stone in the road, Mine was lowered before i got the car so dunno if they been cut, i would assume so as the back still drops with weight in the back but i can still feel the road and really wish for a smooth ride like me work van.

Trust, you will feel ever bump, crack, stone in the road you run ova and will be very uncomfortable.

it aint actually that bad :D really!!

They aint been cut and it still takes some bumps well, apart from speed bumps obviously, but i just ease over them! So cutting them aint really a problem, just a comfort thing? If so they ok for now but i'll maybe give them a trim once they settled and may drop more :s they already down more than stated 35. lol only put on on friday night.

to conclude, cutting them just gona improve comfort over bumps but if they are not cut wont cause accident, just maybe a sorer bum and back? lol

if they resting on them the spring aint travelling like it should, so wouldnt that be dangerous  , by not giving it its full road holding capabilities

I would think so, i would think they have gotta have at least a little travel or the car can't lean wit the corner, couldn't it damge the shell wit twisting where the top half of the car well want to lean but the bottom being stopped wit the bump stops  (Just a theory IMO)

There wont be much body roll wit the lowering you have done anyway so i say cut em down to be safe. Also wat if you have an accident and they notice the cars on its bump stops and it is classed as dangerous, might wanna check that out.

listen, if you are resting on the bump stops then you are using the bump stops as your suspension. They're not designed for that, and you are effectivly doing away with useful bits like your springs.

Sitting on the bump stops is bad, it will cause unpreditcable handling. Some guy whos lowered a corsa said don't cut them, ok - now listen to the countless amount of people who have lowered Cinquecentos and Seicentos who are saying cut them.

right peeps,

went and had a word with the guy who fitted them 4 me, he said the front where defo not on the bump stops, but incase the back are he gona cut some off them, cutting them in half enough, cause they quite big arent they?
Will this free up more travel and make it better?
