hey guys ive got a ice blue or baby blue fiat stilo (the bold one) haha anyway ive got some claws on it, and want to get them sprayed anthrecite or a dark grey, now the cars on 215/40/17 at the moment and it looks like its on stilts and i mean really high,

now i i lower it 30mm will it still be sitting in the sky because i went outside with a tape measure and put it on the arch down, and it still looked about 3-4 inches from the wheel :s, im going to get eibach pro springs and dampers if anything but has anyone got any pictures of a stilo lowerd 30mm??

i want it to look like its just above the tyre not slammed

1.4 fiat stilo lowered on eibach sportline springs meant to be 40mm- 50mm lowered. Didnt really make much of a difference.

If your looking for a lower look, then coilovers is the way for you, this is how i had my coilovers when i first put them on,

ahh right then, now ive got a friend who has a stilo and had 30mm springs on and it sits quite nice only problem is i would need to do the dampers at some point im sure? i dont really want to spend all the money on coilovers to be honest if that makes sense?

Do a search, there's a lot of threads about lowering. Some say you can get away with lowering springs with the original dampers (at least for a while). Overall it's your decision whether you want a 'planted' look with reasonable ride quality or if 'slammin' is your thing, possibly with a very hard ride.

For what it's worth, when Prodrive were asked by FIAT GB to mod the Abarth, they chose Eibach springs and Bilstein dampers. My choice (if your finances permit) would be Eibach Pro-Kit springs and Koni FSD dampers.

Anything over 30mm u should get the dampers changed really. Under its fine. My car looked like it was on stilts and i had 17" alloys to!!! I noticed a hell of a difference when i lowerd mine. And handling becomes much better.

I got the eibach sportlines (mean to be 40mm but cos i hv smaller engine more like 30mm) But to keep ride comfort i got dampers with them. Best thing ive done for the car imo.

Like the others say. All depends on how low you want to go. I had a thread up bout 2 weeks ago with before after pictures here

See, here's where it depends on engine size, 'cause i've got Mr Cousin's ebiach Sportline springs but my was a little more, though i do have 'more tyre' than he does (though i don't know if thats nulified by the fact he's on 18's?!?), if anything it's still falling slightly. Handling is improved quite alot i'll admit, but you will seriously at some point need to change the dampers. I admit i haven't yet, but i feel i may need soon-ish.
