Hi

I've had a number of problems after the blue&me 5.4 update on my 500. It all updated fine but now people can't hear me.

It's not the microphone as I can delete the paired device, re-connect and sync it all and it works. But as soon as I reduce the level of the call with the volume controls on the steering wheel, the person on the other end of the line can't hear me.

I'd go back to the old version if I could.

Anyone any ideas other than pulling the fuse ?

Phil

In the radio menu, scroll through and find restore defaults? Select yes and the radio settings should return to original settings and this should sort your problem.

Thanks for the suggestion but it made no difference. I've even deleted the pairing/phonebook. Re-sync'd everything and still no one can hear me.

Went to the dealers and they said 'oh, looks like the mic....you'll have to book it in, again ! for us to check it out more thoroughly !!!!

I've had the mic assembly out and powered it and there's little to no audio....just hiss. It's not just a mic though....there's a small PCB with a couple of surface mount chips on it so whether it has some sort of AGC or noise cancelling that's gone wrong I'm stuck....just like the dealers ;)

Thanks

Phil

You cannot go back to the old version. It is clearly stated in the instructions for updating SW version.

However, to increase volume of your microphone, you can try by pressing '+' button on the steering during a phone conversation. Also try by pressing ESC button on the steering for turning the microphone on during a phone conversation.

Tried this on my 500 pressing the + button makes the incomming voice louder and pressing esc puts the call on hold. I have the same problem but deleting and pairing does not fix it.

Thanks for that but the ESC just puts the call on hold. All functionality works, just nobody can hear me.

It's back to Fiat in a week but I expect them to just put dirty marks all over my clean ivory headlining and tell me they think it's the microphone and they need to order one in (even though I asked them to order one) and I'll need to go back...AGAIN !

Fixed by Fiat in Preston....shock horror ! Although it was the microphone just as I had said it was, but at least they've fixed it and the voice recognition appears to be actually better than it used to be when it was working.
