going to ask a really sill question...if/when i do replace the original wheels.....does the spare need to be the same size.....or is it acceptable for a short period to have a smaller ie 15" but spare 14"

The spare will often a different size to the wheels in the car so no worry's there

Found a decent condition wheel (better than at least one I have….but the valve core is missing or looks to be….
Anyone replaced that before? I’ve looked and can only see kits? Is that right?

Is it only the core you're needing? Tyre stores replace valves complete when fitting new tyres. Call in to one and you'll find buckets full of old valves. I'd be astonished if they didn't just let you have one for free.

I was just thinking. This is a bare rim, right? No tyre fitted? if so whoever fits a new tyre to it for you should be automatically renewing the valve assembly anyway. The old core will have been removed by whoever stripped the tyre to let the pressure out quickly and completely so they could strip the tyre from the rim. The old core will have just been thrown away.

Yep…..have 5 rims 4 with tyres….2 tyres look reasonable….2 don’t. Was going to take them into a mate at work and see if he’d swap it over….I’ll speak to him anyway. Thanks Puggitt
