Technical Lost computer and engine and steering light on

Hi All

New here, brilliant site helped me so far but now I have a problem. Tried searching but no luck

I have just changed the stereo following the guide on here. Took a live feed from the cigarette lighter to the live on the radio, all works as it should. However I have lost the computer i.e. MPG, distance to empty etc and the steering light is on I assume I have upset the Cambus, any advice please?

Can you tell us what cables are connected to your new stereo?

You can't have the Can bus wires connected to your new radio, they should be disconnected.

Thanks for the reply but it seems to have reset itself, only 4 wires to the radio, yellow constant live, red swithcehed live from the cig lighter, earth and orange illumunation
All seems well now, thanks anyway

That's good.
The orange that signals illumination, or does it come from? Did the stock radio have that wire?
