Technical loss of power

does anyone know why my 19.JTD suddenly loses power when running warm. I'm driving along and it seems you press the pedal right down and you can feel it holding back, then it has a puff of smoke and shoots off....help

Hi mate,

Thats classic sticking EGR valve by the sounds of it. Give it a clean out, or buy a new one. To be a 100% positive you could get diagnostics done, but i would bet my sandwiches on it. Another quick way to test it is to put a blanking plate between the EGR and the corregated tube. Take it for a quick spin, if the problems gone, then its defiantely your EGR

Engine not running well

Hi I have a pertol 16v 16oocc multipla and am having problems. At the moment the car is starting well and when idle ok only that occasionally the engine will almost stall but then recovers. When I am driving along I get kangaroo petrol at times where I have to change up a gear, its jerky and its driving me mad. Recently had oxygen sensor changes, new plugs and leads, new petrol filter but still puzzles me.

It there any help out there?

Oh and also it drops in power too!
