LOSING MOJO, THINKING ABOUT SELLING THE WAGON

Chaps, i am losing my mojo, and now i am thinking about selling the wagon, i just don't know if i can carry on with it, when i have a hankering for something else, i have had 3 of these and they are great cars they really are, and i have have owned them for 6 years this year....

i need words of encouragement, words of wisdom, or i may be heading into unknown waters with a vw or merc or maybe even lexus

mate if you have done all you can with them you have done all you can..... take it off the road and 20vt it? while thats being done you can have your hankering for a vw lol.

seriously though if the times up the times up. only a big change in fun with it can make you want to keep it. either a entire new look or a entire new feel.

heppened to me in my seicento so i put a new engine in and tracked it. worth every penny...

@ mike dunno mate, i have spent a small fortune to be honest, it now has full leather and is a one off, just finshed restoring the door cards to the original new look, also got new shocks to go on teh front propa fiat abarth ones, its had the cambelt done, and also have the fiat coupe wheels. thing is its a good car a really good car, yep there are a few rust patches (well not rotten) i have got under it and scraped the area that rust and it was starting but i cleaned it up and re sealed it with underseal and its solid, passed last mot with no advisories and if i am honest it could do with some new front discs, i am going to mop it and wax it too over the weekend, i spose i would take £750 for it without the coupe wheels.....anyway you are ment to be helping me lol

to be fair i would love a 20vt init but i just don't have the time (work 12 hour days 5 days a week and have 3 children under 5) and i dont have the moeny (3 small children take it all lol)and if money was no object then it would get a full resto with coupe lump and brakes and uprights then i would be happy, the thing is i have been and looked at a passat estate 1.8 20v turbo and it has been built to 312bhp r/r figures and that is getting me excited, plus i need an estate as i am into cross country biking so need to be abe to get my bike in the back.

wasnt offencive...... it was obvous they were originally yours. was a joke not a jab

out of 3 comments 2 were asking for parts, vultures was a perfect analogy for the situation of people asking for the parts from a car he hasnt even decided he is selling..... didnt mean offence to anyone, & still dont wasnt narky or offencive.

Wow.... didn't expect this, i posted this yesterday and only 3 people have replied, gotta say its the first time in 6 years that i am getting a little fed up, Kee if i were to sell you wuld be the first person i called, my mojo is coming back though, gonna sticker bomb some panels and put the new suspension on and i am having new tyres fitted to the coupe rims too plus they are going a different colour.

Alot of my friends who i have spoken too have told me to keep the marea as i have put a lot of time into it, and to be honest thats what i intend to do and am gonna keep it for as long as i can even if i do buy another car too the marea stays. at the end of teh day it makes finacial sense too!

but to be honest, i have been part of retro rides since november and some of teh old faces from here are on there, the marea is now classed retro as its pre 2000 designed, its just a shame there are only a few face that come on here now, i will be at brooklands and shall continue to go every year as a pilgramage.

Rob mate got your text, why you getting fed up with it. Doing something different is always going to be challenging mate, if you want to follow the crowd then so be it. If you stick with it you'll always have something unique, when your at the light peeps are gonna start asking what is that and looks nice/different and the rest of it, so stick at it mate. You no I'm a Marea man to the end my Mare 155 has been garaged for the last 2 years now BUT it will get done.
The last car I put my heart and soul into used to be a very unique Lancia Beta Spyder, converted it to 2.0l, then added fuel injection, fully lightend and balanced engine etc.. etc.. That car was bought from a scrap yard and owed me 15k when I finnished it and would get jealous stares from everyone, park it next to some serious exotica and peeps would be asking me what it was.
Ignore the vultures and keep on with it, don't bother with the 20vt conversion, when do you get the chance to spped anyway.
